Day 1 - Depart USA to Tel Aviv
Today you will embark on the journey of a lifetime as you begin your pilgrimage to The Holy Land. Meals served in flight.
Day 2 - Arrive in Tel Aviv
Your friendly NTS representative will meet you at baggage claim and escort you to your transfer for a delicious dinner and a good night's rest.
Day 3 - Caesarea Maritima, Mount Carmel, Megiddo And Tiberias
After a delicious buffet breakfast, travel to Caesarea by the Sea on the Mediterranean coastline. It was here that Cornelius the Centurion and his household were saved and baptized, and it was also where Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome. See the top of Mt. Carmel, where Elijah prayed down the fire from heaven and defeated the 450 prophets of Baal. Visit Megiddo and the Valley of Armageddon. Journey on to Tiberias and check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Ancient Boat, Magdala, Mount Of Beatitudes, Capernaum , Tabgha , And Boat Ride
Explore the wonders of the Sea of Galilee today. Learn about the “Ancient Boat”, a rare example of the kind of boat Jesus would have sailed in. Walk the recent excavations of the town of Magdala, connected with Mary Magdelene. Visit the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. Stand in the ruins of the synagogue built on the remains of the one where Jesus taught. Right after, you will enjoy St. Peter’s Fish Lunch. At Tabgha, enter the Church of Loaves & Fishes and recall the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000. Enjoy a beautiful boat ride across the Sea of Galilee as you share in a special time of worship on the water.
Day 5 - Jordan River, Jordan Valley, Jerusalem , Mt. Of Olives , Palm Sunday Road, And Gethsemane
Bid the Galilee farewell as you travel south to Jerusalem. First, gather together at the River Jordan where you can remember or renew your baptism. Continue south through the Jordan River Valley, the route often taken by Jesus and other Galileans as they traveled to and from Jerusalem. Stand on the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended into Heaven forty days after His resurrection and take in the remarkable panoramic view of the city of Jerusalem. Walk the Palm Sunday Road down to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray among the olive trees.
Day 6 - Israel Museum, Upper Room, House Of Caiaphas, And Bethlehem
Visit the Israel Museum, including the Shrine of the Book & the 1st Century Model of Jerusalem. Journey to Mt. Zion and meditate on the events of the Last Supper as you visit the traditional location of the Upper Room. Walk through some of the ancient rooms of Caiaphas’ the High Priest’s House, where it is believed Jesus was held prior to the crucifixion. In Bethlehem, visit the cave revered as Jesus’ birthplace and see the Church of the Nativity constructed over the site.
Day 7 - Western Wall, Foz , Southern Wall Excavations, Jewish Quarter, Yad Vashem
Pray alongside the Jewish faithful at the Western Wall. Located in the heart of Jerusalem and within walking distance of the Old City, you’ll visit the Friends of Zion Museum, where you’ll find the history and story of non-Jewish aid to the Jewish people and the support given in the establishment of the State of Israel. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps. Walk the Jewish Quarter in the center of Jerusalem. Finally, visit the Yad Vashem Museum for a somber reminder of the horrors of the holocaust with the purpose of never allowing this portion of history to repeat itself.
Day 8 - Leisure Day (Masada/Dead Sea Optional Tour)
Today you have free time to explore on your own or you may choose to visit Masada and the Dead Sea (additional charge). Ascend by cable car to Masada, Herod’s legendary mountaintop fortress which became the last desperate stronghold of the Jewish Zealots against the Romans. You can still look down on the remains of the Roman camps and the siege ramp below. End your day with a dip in the salt and mineral-laden waters of the Dead Sea.
Day 9 - March 23 – Antonia Fortress, Pool Of Bethesda, Church Of St. Anne, Via Dolorosa, And Garden Tomb
Visit Herod’s Antonia Fortress, where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate. View the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle, and sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne to experience its beautiful acoustics. Walk the Via Dolorosa, “the Way of the Cross”. Your tour culminates at the Garden Tomb where you’ll reflect on the agony of the crucifixion, then celebrate the glory of the empty tomb & the resurrection!
Day 10 - Return
Return home with a transformed faith and memories to last a lifetime!
