Yom Ha'atzmaut

Yesterday was Yom Ha'atzmaut, when the State of Israel celebrates Independence Day. According to the Jewish calendar, Israel is celebrating its 70th year since its rebirth. The survival of the Jewish people, the revival of their ancient language, and their return to their ancestral land is one of the greatest miracles in recorded history.

David Ben-Gurion, First Prime Minister of Israel, poignantly stated,
"In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles."

In just a few weeks, I’ll have the privilege to represent you and the Center for National Renewal at the dedication of the new US Embassy in Jerusalem – a red-letter day of historical and biblical significance.  We must not take lightly the undisputed fact that America – our great nation – has played an indispensable role in the rebirth, security, and continuance of the modern State of Israel.  Not only that, but our presence and role in the world is more than a necessary act of diplomacy.  It is a God-given opportunity and privilege to extend peace and advance the Gospel.
This week, as I pray and consider the sensitive and critical issues in the world – the civil war in Syria; volatile conditions in North Korea; the persecuted Church in hostile nations (most recently, Turkey); and the pending and potential confirmation of a new Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo – WE MUST PRAY.  As we pray for OUR nation, we must know that OUR nation distinctively and dramatically affects OUR world.

Join me today, in praying for these significant requests…

Department of State and its employees and diplomatic officials

Incoming Secretary of State and potential confirmation of Mike Pompeo

Critical relationships, negotiations, and talks to be productive in creating and maintaining peace in regions of conflict

Pray this prayer with me!

Father, Jesus is our Salvation and the Desire of Nations.
Because of this, we pray for our Department of State
and the nearly 180 countries with which diplomatic
relations are maintained.

We pray for our incoming
Secretary of State to walk in favor and wisdom among
the rulers of the earth and to advise our
Commander-in-Chief with skillful and godly wisdom that
will keep us and deliver us from evil.

Father, we ask that
You direct the decisions made by these leaders.
We pray that the uncompromisingly righteous will be in
authority so the people can rejoice. May our foreign
policy reflect Your heart and will for the nations of the world.

Let America represent You well in the kingdoms of man
and let the light of the Gospel shine brightly from our shores,
illuminating the darkness.

In Jesus’ Name!!

Thank you for embracing the mandate of prayer for our nation!  PRAYER has always changed the course of human history and OUR UNITED PRAYER will not only bring renewal to our land, but effect the world.  We’re here – fighting for the soul of our nation, pushing back darkness, and representing the Kingdom – with you and for you!  Thank you for praying for us!
